What is Home Health?
Home Health Care is a range of health care services given for an illness or injury for you and your loved one at home. Home health care is just as effective as the care received in the hospital or nursing facility, thus allowing recovery and/or rehab in the comfort of your own home.
There are a variety of services covered in the home health setting, such as skilled nursing, therapy, medical social work, and home health aide services. Examples of skilled home health services include wound care, infusion therapy, respiratory services, injections, catheter care and changes, and medication reconciliation, and above all, patient and caregiver education on the disease process.
The goal of home health care is to help you or your loved one in recuperating faster and achieving their optimal level of independence. As an extension of your physician, the home health team coordinate and update your physician on progress.
